Turtoletto
Turtle painting duo Elvíra and Kytička create abstract art... Turtles play the main role!

How turtle paintings are created
1. Turtles choose a color by tapping their shell or snout.
2. We'll put some paint on their canvas.
3. The turtles move freely across the canvas and paint with their feet, shells, and tails.
4. Abstract compositions full of unexpected shapes are created.

Turtle artist Elvir( a )
He is characterized by a passionate temperament when choosing colors. He is careful when painting and applies paint to the canvas with sensitive movements of his legs and tail. Sometimes his work is hindered by his large appetite, sometimes he forgets what he actually wanted to do and goes to graze on juicy clover.
Interesting fact: A male turtle with a female name. The sex of turtles is not clear until around 7 years of age, and the original female name given by its owner - who hoped they would be the same sex - has already been retained. The turtle Elvíra hatched from an egg in 2015, and is CITES registered.

Turtle artist Kytička
In the creative duo, she is the less dominant one. She is characterized by her deliberate painting. As you can see in the paintings, they look much more realistic than Elvíra's, because she thinks through her strokes more and doesn't let anything distract her from her work.
Interesting facts: The flower is most likely a female turtle. She was bitten by a dog in 2024 and therefore has a patch on her shell (made of special resin). The flower hatched in 2016 and is CITES registered.

Turtle inspiration
Turtles are very inspiring creatures. Markéta paints pictures of turtles and Markétka writes and draws turtle comics. When you look into turtles' eyes, they seem to sparkle like foxes or to be very wise.
Modern art
Turtles make their paintings (modern art) by placing a little non-toxic paint on the canvas and the turtles gently move their legs and tail, but sometimes their heads, to smear the paint.
Colors
The paints are NON-TOXIC. More precisely, they are children's finger paints. So it is clear that they are non-toxic.
How do turtles live?
Our turtles are outside in a large enclosure in the summer, indoors in the fall, and hibernated in the winter. They get food and water every day. They get dandelions, lettuce, and clover for their food. They sometimes get raspberries or hibiscus. And to get enough calcium, they sometimes get boiled eggshells.
